Sweerin Fall Update

Image
As the Summer warmth begins to fade, and Fall has come. The cooler temperatures, harvest, and now the changing colors of  foliage all speak of Our Creator and His amazing ways. This season of preparation has been quite busy for us, but we wanted  to let our friends and family know how our planning process has been going in regards to Zambia. We truly wouldn't be taking this step of faith if we didn't have the encouragement and support of so many people, so we want to thank you all.       We've had a great summer enjoying the Bible conferences, going for lots of walks, spending time with family, neighbors, and friends, and working on the Zambia School Project.  In July, we had the privilege of sharing with some old friends about our heart for Zambia and it was...

Sweerin Spring Update

W ell a few things have changed since we last updated you all. Covid-19 is making a mark on our world, and it has caused us all to step back and slowdown in many ways.  Whether this virus is as deadly as the media portrays or not; everyone is greatly affected by it. Many of our governmental and medical authorities have worked diligently to help find ways to flatten the curve, and many of us are trying to adhere to those policies as best as we can.  As many of you know, we were planning to return to Zambia at the Mission of Love Community Orphanage. We began the fundraising process and shortly after, Covid-19 made its presence. Even though our plans have been delayed and borders remain closed; we are still actively working on preparing our hearts, and Melanie continues to set time aside to work on the school project for the community school. Through it all, we can be confident our God is faithful and we need to trust Him.  A couple months prior t...

Zambia Update

SWEERIN FAMILY | AFRICA UPDATE Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! 1 Chronicles 16:34.  UPDATE : God has been gracious over the last few months. Overseas preparations, discipleship, and the daily grind of carpentry and family raising have all been busy but at the same time so fruitful. That in mind, we appreciate all of you who have invested in our family and partnered in prayer as our next move with Zambia approaches.  As we’ve continued taking steps in that direction, it has been amazing to see God’s faithfulness in orchestrating things right before our eyes. One example of this was meeting a wonderful family who will help us by not only providing batteries and solar panels for our Zambian home, but also through the provision of a mentor for me (Nate) as decisions continue to be made. Another way God has brought provision has been through giving us neighbors here in Iowa that are also missionaries. Conversation...

Sweerin Update

Greetings, family and friends!        Summer fun has come to a close and now we are moving into Fall. I am still amazed at how God created each season, and with each transition of seasons we get to see the wondrous works of His hands. The changes of seasons remind me in many ways of our seasons that we transition through during our time on Earth. Even though your seasons may not look like our seasons we all can still hang onto the promises of God. We are so thankful for the hope we have in Jesus.      We have decided to update all of you on our family and how the Lord has led us over these last 6 years from returning from Zambia. By reading this update we pray that each of you will be able to gain a better understanding of our hearts and the direction the Lord is leading our family. We desire your prayers as we continue to move forward in obedience.      We are entering into a new season of ministry...

Zambia School Shipment and Update

Image
Greetings to everyone, We are excited to share with you some new updates concerning the school in Zambia. We are so humbled and blessed to play a small part in this project, and we are beyond excited to see how God can use this material to help the children, the people of Mukumba, and surrounding villages. We want to thank you all for joining us in this project as we could have not done this without your prayers and financial support. On July 15th, 2018 we made our way to Kansas City, MO to drop off the first shipment of barrels. We were able to send 2- 55 gallon barrels completely filled to the brim! AmeZam(shipping company) said the shipping process were take about 8-12 weeks. We are praying that in mid- September the school supplies will arrive to the warehouse in Lusaka(the capital of Zambia) all in one piece. Once notified, the directors of Mission of Love- Jako and Amber Joubert will make the long drive to Lusaka to pick them up and drive them back to their home. As Nate a...

Zambia School Project Updates

Image
Greetings Everyone! Thank you for coming to our blog to learn more about the Zambia School Project. We are excited to share with you all of the updates we have on how the school project is going. I want to let you all know that God has been doing some amazing things during the preparations of this curriculum.  I would like to share two with you:            First Story :  As I searched the internet for different books and materials I would find one that I would like, and I would begin pursuing it. The process would initially begin well, but for reasons unknown to me, the people would no longer answer my emails, or I would be unable to reach them by phone even though I had made contact with them previously. So, I would pray and ask God if this wasn’t right, then show me something else. God did each time. I would find new resources that were even better than the ones I was previously considering. The communication process would go rather smoothly ...
