The Word "yet"

Image
Greetings Family and Friends, I was reading in my daily devotional book, and I was challenged by the word “yet.” The author of this book looked at the meaning of the word “yet” and how it can relate to our faith. Usually the word “yet” connects something negative to something positive. During our life on this Earth, we may have many unexpected twists  and turns. For many of us, we have had to learn how to take these undesired "lemons" and  make lemonade/” The author mentioned that maybe in the past we have had to walk through times of testing, discipline, and reduction. All of these things are not pleasant in the moment, but are critical for the developing of our faith. Testing can prove and strengthen our faith. Discipline corrects and refines our character. Reduction prepares us for growth.   In the devotional, it stated that all of us have an incredible propensity for shifting our weight onto the things we want. We desire to have promotion, respect, provisi...

Greetings from Zambia

Greetings from Zambia!  Psalm 25:1-5: In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.  I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.  Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. I have been reading this Psalm frequently this last month. Once again in this prayer David is seeking the Lord for His wisdom and guidance. He knows that his refuge is in His Savior. May we also humble ourselves and submit our plans to Him who is above all. When I sit down with our children, we often talk about having a teachable heart. We have so much to learn from our Heavenly Father. Nate and I are reminded of that daily as our own flesh wants to rise up and fight against it. In each of our relationships and circumstances we can see ways in which we...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.” Isaiah 9:6-7 The Lord of the Universe stepped down from His throne, and entered our world as an infant. Not to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many. In Isaiah 53:5-6 it   says,  “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Jesus represents: God and Man /  King and ...

Hello Family and Friends-  I know in past posts we have mentioned the possibility of a well. October is the best time to survey and have a well dug as the water table is the lowest at this time. We talked with the Joubert family and we saw that as the needs of the ministry grow the need for water would rise as well, so in faith we all went forward with digging this well.  We had a surveyor out to the base a few weeks ago and he pinpointed an area with good potential.  As I am writing this update, the drillers have now arrived to start drilling!! Excitement is filling the camp as we anticipate the outcome. Please join with us in prayer as we  are believing that they will find good water. THE HOUSE is ready for the roof!  We had 4 workers building the house, and 4 to 8 people who were working on the bricks.  The making and burning of the bricks is complete and they have all been delivered to our home. The builders have completed their work, so now Nat...
